Revisions and versions
How to steer a result you already have without spending another generation.
The first version is a draft
A staged room is a matter of taste, and the app cannot read yours from one photo. Assume two or three goes. That is what revisions are for, and it is why they are free: you get 10 per photo, on top of the first version, and none of them touch your allowance.
Revision or new generation
The line is the photo. Same photo is a revision. Different photo is a new generation, and a new generation is what costs.
- Revise
- Same photo, different result. Change the style, the furnishing level, the room size, or add a note like “darker sofa, no plants”. You can also change nothing and re-roll: the same settings twice give two different rooms, which is often all you want.
- New generation
- A different photo. Another angle of the same room counts as a different photo, because each one is staged independently and the furniture will not match between them.
Versions
Every attempt at one photo is kept and numbered, starting at v0. Nothing overwrites anything, so a revision that goes backwards costs you nothing: the earlier version is still there. Any version can be held against the original photo with the Compare slider, which is the view the screen opens on.
In use marks which version represents this photo everywhere else in the app, most visibly on the project grid. It is a label, not an act:
- It does not delete, lock or archive the other versions.
- It does not change what Download gives you. You can download any version, any time.
- Until you set one, the newest finished version stands in. So a fresh revision changes the tile until you choose deliberately.
Writing a useful note
Notes are read as instructions, so they work best when they name a thing and what to do with it. Up to 1000 characters.
- Name the piece. “Swap the sectional for a two-seater” lands. “Less stuff” is what the furnishing control is for, and the control does it better.
- Say what you want, not what you do not. “Warm oak and cream” beats “nothing grey”.
- One or two changes at a time. A note listing eight requirements gets you a room that half satisfies all of them. Revisions are free, so spend them.
